The Musical Celebration of Pam Bricker at Blues Alley on Wednesday, March 16th was a powerful and moving tribute. There was such an outpouring of support that unfortunately, some were turned away at the door!
The evening was emceed by Pam's longtime partner, Rick Harris , who performed on cornet, vocals & piano. The house trio included pianist Bill Harris, drummer/percussionist Tony Martucci & bassist David Jernigan.
Throughout the evening a steady flow of guest performers took the stage to pay their musical repects, including;
Vocalists Niki Lee, Iris Benjamin, Delores Williams, and Simone Marchand.
Pianists Bob Diener, Wayne Wilentz, Jim Levy, Harold Kauffman and Harry Appelman.
Bassists Tom Cecil, Max Murray, Peter Revell, and James King.
Drummers Phil Cunneff, Dominic Smith, and Leland Nakamura, and Ian Dylan.
Saxophoists Chris Bacas & Peter Fraize .
Gutarist Dave Cosby and Trumpeter Tom Williams.
A selection of rare recordings by Pam were also available for sale. Receipts from those sales, plus the proceeds from Blues Alley and other donations raised a nice sum for Blake's Fund.
