April 12. School's out for summer, but Pam plans to return to teaching at GWU in September. Old News 2002 The latest CD from Thievery Corporation, "The
Richest Man in Babylon" is now out. It's already ranked number 65 in sales on
Amazon! All signs point to this record being BIG. Pam sings on two tracks, "Facing
East" and "All That We Perceive." We'll be adding the CD to the Catalog page soon,
but in the meantime, you can order it directly from Amazon by clicking here. Pam was on the road with Thievery from Oct 3 - Oct 19 (Europe) and Nov 12 - 28 (USA). You can view the complete tour schedule on ESL Music's website here. Pammie wins a Wammie! Two, in fact! On Sunday, Feb 24th, the Wammie Awards were held at the State Theater in Falls Church, VA. Pam was nominated in three categories: Contemporary Jazz Vocalist, Contemporary Jazz Album (for "U-Topia"), and Electronica/Techno Vocalist (for her work in Thievery Corporation). She won the first two! It was very exciting. Congrats to Pam , Wayne Wilentz, and Jim West for their "U-Topia" win. Have you heard Pam doing the current jingle for Next Day Blinds? The TV commercial, a cute homage to Cole Porter and Fred Astaire, often runs in the DC area (on channels 4 and 7), during the 7pm and 11pm newshours. The commercial has been spotted as far away as LA. That's PROFESSOR Bricker to you! Pam has a new job as an Adjunct Professor in the Music Department at George Washington University, teaching Jazz Voice. She started this semester and is very excited about it. She continues to teach private lessons, so if you're interested, drop her an email. Check out David Nathan's excellent review of "U-Topia" on All About Jazz. He writes: "Bricker is blessed with perfect pitch, clear diction, more than average range and a knowledgeable sense of the lyrics and feel for the beat all packaged in a clear, cool set of vocal pipes."
